Welcome to “Carney Saves the World”. I’m your host, Scott Carney. I’m a former stand-up comedian & actor, with a degree in Political Science. Oh, and I’m an almost 50yr old only-child/ man-child. So, you can probably see where I’m going with all of this.
Each week, I’ll pick the brains of some of the best and brightest entrepreneurs, artists, and creative minds that I know. We’ll dive into what drove them to get started down their chosen paths, how they actually got their start and what their motivation is to keep going in their massively competitive industries.
We’ll learn how they’ve balanced their successes along their journeys with some intimidating pitfalls.
The name for the podcast comes from a dig my wife hits me with all the time when I think I’m right about all subjects. “Oh, Carney’s going to save the world!” Well, maybe it’s time we did just that.
Have you ever thought that you’re such a good cook, that you should have your own cooking show on TV? Or, write your own cookbook?
· Not unless watching me clean up exploded hotdogs in the microwave suddenly becomes binge worthy.
Can you imagine standing in front of thousands of people during a taping of your comedy special that will eventually have over 2 million views on YouTube?
· I’d hope that the show is filmed from the waste up, because, at some point, I’m probably going to shit my pants.
Have you ever wanted to start your own brewery?
· Absolutely, but every homebrew that I’ve made tasted like it was brewed with roadkill.
Have you ever thought about being a guest star on some of the longest running & most award-winning TV shows ever?
· Obviously. But there’s a million of us out there that could play the “old, fat cop” role.
Have you ever thought about what it would be like to get punched in the face in an MMA cage for a living?
· See earlier comment about me shitting my pants
Do you think your paintings are good enough to hang on someone’s wall, never mind fetch thousands of dollars on the world art market?
· Absolutely not. I never graduated from drawing stick figures.
Do you think you have some cool friends and acquaintances that you could showcase by doing a podcast?
· Well, I do…And hopefully, we’ll all learn a few tips and tricks from them all along the way.
